Being Positive (May 2022)

It's now been a couple of weeks since D (for Diagnosis) Day - have had a follow up with my consultant and with my GP, both supportive and sympathetic.  In the short term, I've opted to not start taking any meds (they don't do anything other mask the symptoms - and I seem to be able to do that without chemical assistance) - but I have got three months supply of meds to hand, which it just as well since I'm well into packing up for a three month stay on Shetland.  Don't think that'll get it off my mind completely - but it has always seemed easier to live day-to-day when my focus is on taking photographs of puffins (other auks are available).   Over the last few days it's been good to see the orchids start to appear around the various local (Oxfordshire) nature reserves - a reminder that stuff is still going on, and that being close to the natural world has always been where I've got more pleasure.
